Trout Creek Winter Carnival Ontario Getaway

During the second week in February visit Trout Creek north of Muskoka in the Almaguin Highlands and near Algonquin Park for an exciting fun family week, friends getaway or romantic getaway. The Almaguin Highlands is a large tourist area that keeps growing more and more every year.
Tourists from Toronto, Burlington, Hamilton, Niagara, Kitchener, Windsor and as far East as Kingston and Ottawa visit this area for cottage rentals, hotels, bed and breakfasts, private cottages, campgrounds, cottage resorts and inns.   

Make sure you don't miss out on this February Getaway north of Toronto in beautiful cottage country.
Wednesday the Trout Creek Lions will have a Jackpot Bingo.
Thursday there is a Tiny Tot Pageant at the Trout Creek Community Centre.
Friday come and enjoy a candlelight walk, mens hockey, womens hockey, and fireworks.
Saturday you can enjoy more hockey, kids organized activities, refreshments, hot tood and fishing tournament.
Sunday has a pancake breakfast, horse rides, sleigh rides, wagon rides, hockey finals, ice sculpture contest and colouring contest. 
I have been writing these blogs for over a year now and I am amazed what this area has to offer.  I am from Toronto area and I am so happy I discovered the Almaguin Highlands for my new home.

Canadian National Pond Hockey Championships

The Canadian National Pond Hockey Championships take place at Deerhurst Resort, and span over two weekends. January 29 - January 31st and again on February 5 - February 7th. Ontario Cottage Resorts near the Almaguin Cup Burk's Falls


Winter is a great time to spend your vacation time up north in the Almaguin Highlands near Algonquin Park and Muskoka.

Events take place at the Legion Branch 405 to include Friday night steak dinner, Saturday and Sunday morning pancake breakfast, Sunday night roast beef dinner and dance and on Sunday after the races enjoy a spaghetti dinner.

Muskoka Arts & Crafts About Face Huntsville


At the Chapel Gallery in Bracebridge Muskoka Arts and Crafts host the annual About Face challenge. This art show happens around the second or third week in Bracebridge, Ontario.


At the Art Show in the Muskoka, Canada region, members create self-portraits without using their faces.

Come out on a Saturday to enjoy this amazing exhibition. The exhibition continues for 2 weeks.

Almaguin Cup Almaguin Highlands Burks Falls


The Almaguin Cup is back again for another year. Every year around the first or second weekend in February travel to Burks Falls in the Almaguin Highlands for a fun filled weekend. The Almaguin Cup is part of the Pro Tour sanctioned by SCM Racing.


Events take place at the Legion, Branch 405 starting on Friday night with a steak dinner.

Saturday and Sunday morning enjoy a pancake breakfast, Saturday night enjoy a roast beef dinner and dance and then on Sunday after the races are over have a wonderful spaghetti dinner.

Race Tickets for 1 day is $20 or for 2 days $30

Kids 12 & under are $5 per day.
